UPDATE (2020-03-11):
In response to COVID-19, and after reading numerous CDC and press reports, the Board of Digital Irish has determined that it would be more prudent to limit the in-person component this event, and push the focus to online.
We encourage you to join us virtually at 7:00 PM on Digital Irish’s Facebook page for the live stream of our chat with Mary McKenna. Please use the Facebook comments field to ask questions. The On Demand video will be published soon after on our Facebook page.
All of our admission fees go to our designated charity, the Irish American Partnership. However, if you require a refund, kindly request through your Eventbrite account.
We appreciate your understanding in this health emergency, and look forward to continuing our mission of Connecting Irish Innovation Globally.
Mary McKenna is an Irish technology entrepreneur and angel investor. She co-founded Learning Pool, the online learning company in 2006. She sold the business in 2014 so that she could return to working with earlier stage Start-Ups and Scale-Ups.
In the last 5 years Mary has worked extensively with especially first-time and female entrepreneurs. She has angel invested in eight early stage tech Start-up in which four have female founders and two are Irish companies in Healthtech.
Mary McKenna is a judge for Horizon 2020, the €80 billion EU Research and Innovation program, an Entrepreneur in Residence at University of Oxford, a member of MATRIX, the Northern Ireland Science Industry Panel, and an advisor to several governments. She is also a trustee of a small number of charities and social enterprises, and the first ever entrepreneur in residence at St Mary’s College, an all-girls secondary school in the working class Creggan area of Derry, Northern Ireland. As part of her work she sees literally hundreds of pitches every year.
Mary was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2014 New Year’s Honours for services to digital technology, innovation and learning.
We are delighted to feature Mary at our next event ‘Funding the Future: What’s Next & How to Pitch it‘ on March 12th.
Join for networking opportunities arising before and after the talk!
