Cilter: Rena Maycock

Rena Maycock was recently named in the Sunday Independents top 30 women in tech – thanks to her work as founder and CEO of Cilter.

Cilter are developing child-protection software for smartphones that keeps children safe from bullying, coercion and grooming and aims to help prevent child-suicide by alerting parents to imminent threats presented to their child via their smartphone. 

Before Cilter, Rena co-founded Intro Matchmaking – which remains Ireland’s largest nationwide dating agency – and was chief executive office at iRadio Ireland.

In this episode, we discuss Rena’s passion for making smartphone use safe for children, why safety online is more important than ever, and how Cilter are tackling these challenges head on.
